THE MIDNIGHT MIRACLE is the PODCAST OF THE DAY on STANDUPWORLD.COM
Some thoughts on Dave Chappelle's podcast
Like everything he does when he commits to something, Chapelle needs to give it a completely fresh spin.
That’s what he’s done to the podcast. The Midnight Miracle is brand new in sense and style. Hosted by Dave, and Black Star’s Yasiin Bey and Talib Kwel, it’s a reinvention of the podcast, the variety show, radio, T.V., and everything. It’s flat-out amazing.
A recorded party with the sturdy sound and confidence of something on the level, no kidding, of a great Stevie Wonder album. It’s that good.
First done during Dave’s Summer Camp in Ohio, superbly produced, and entertaining as hell. Impromptu snippets, snaps, songs, and quick cuts of inside baseball on music, comedy, race, life, love, and loss. It’s fantastic in it’s deeply soulful originality. Everything you’d expect from Dave Chapelle and more.
